Paul Boerem started working in critical care medicine as a registered respiratory therapist in 1997, practicing for five years at Providence Holy Cross Medical center focusing on intensive care, trauma, and labor and delivery. He moved to Utah to complete his bachelor's degree as a respiratory therapist at Weber State University; During his time in Utah Paul worked in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, cystic fibrosis ward and the emergency department of Primary Children’s Medical Center. Upon completing his degree, he attended Columbia University School of Nursing, where he graduated with a Master of Science, completing coursework as an Acute Care NP. Following graduation, Paul accepted a position at Columbia University Medical Center in the Medical Intensive Care unit. He served as co-chief NP of the MICU, medical ECMO program and rapid response managing a team of 18 acute care nurse practitioners. With over 20 years working in critical care Paul’s experience has proven to him that the things that are the most difficult can be the most rewarding. As senior partner for the Advanced Practice Group group he is able to focus on his passion of providing high level critical services and consulting to communities across the tristate area.
